When you think of episodic games nowadays, you probably think of a shorter game experience or something that TellTale have developed. With Panache Digital Games’ first title, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey, Patrice Desilets says it’s probably not what you expect in terms of episodic games.
Following the reveal of the game this past week, Desilets took to Twitter to say that the term “episodic” was really only used for “lack of a better word”. Following that tweet, a Twitter user asked if Ancestors would be similar to TellTale Games’ episodic titles in structure, to which Desilets replied, “I won’t go into any details, but it’s not the way Telltale is doing it.”
@ACConspiracies I won’t go into any details, but it’s not the way Telltale is doing it…;)

If you missed the game’s reveal trailer, you can check it out right below. It doesn’t show a whole lot, but the game’s concept is already pretty intriguing, as we’ll be reliving “the greatest moments of mankind with a documentary twist.”
If you’d like to watch the full Patrice Desilets’ panel, check out the link below. His talk was actually really interesting to listen to and pretty insightful. It’s worth a watch in my opinion.
