Madmind Studios has released an extended gameplay trailer for its upcoming survival horror adventure, Agony.

The footage introduces a previously unseen area of the game called the Floating Forest, and shows off the unique aesthetic that the developers are creating with the title. Featuring strongly in the footage are the terrifying environments that blend together natural elements such as vines and islets, blended together with biological imagery to create a singular visual style. The footage also shows off a small amount of environmental interaction and the player’s ability to speak with some of the denizens of hell:

In Agony, players will assume the role as a tormented soul with no memories of the past and are tasked with exploring hell to meet with the Red Goddess in order to escape. Although the character is relatively powerless when compared to the demons that infest the environments, he does have the ability to possess and control other characters he meets and some of the lesser types of demons.

The game was announced last year and is targeting a 2017 release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Many more details on Agony are available in the interview that OnlySP’s Nick Calandra conducted with the developers late last year.
