In a world where explosions and loud, driving music are used to sell pretty much everything – video games in particular – it takes guts to put out a trailer set to Claude Debussy’s Claire de Lune (one of this writer’s very favorite tunes). But that’s exactly what 505 Games has done with their most recent trailer for ADR1FT. The trailer just came out today and you can check it out below.
For those of you who haven’t been keeping up, ADR1FT is an exploration game set on a derelict space station. As the station’s sole surviving astronaut, it’s up to you to find out what went wrong and fix it to stay alive, all while contending with the hazards of the ruined space and ever-depleting oxygen levels.
Despite the obvious peril, the drifting, free-floating gameplay and natural beauty of the setting and the game’s graphical engine seems to fit perfectly with Debussy’s most famous piece and if this (probably) last trailer doesn’t sell you on one of the most highly-anticipated virtual reality projects yet announced, you probably never looked up into the sky and dreamed of becoming an astronaut when you grew up.
ADR1FT is due out for Occulus and Steam on March 28. Check out the trailer below and check out our hands-on preview here.
