Halo Infinite

Developer 343 Industries has revealed more information regarding the development of Halo Infinite, and the Slipspace Engine.

The reveal trailer shown at E3 ran on the new Slipspace Engine, culminating as a tech demo for fans to see what is to come. The engine was created in secret along side the post-release patches of Halo 5, since the developer knew it wanted to make a bigger game next time. In a blog post on its website, the team shared some information about the game:

“When we started this project, the team’s vision for the game was ambitious – so much so that we knew we had to build new tech to fully realize our goals for Halo Infinite.”

The developer mentioned that the game is still a long way out, but it wanted to share the progress and showcase the new technology and art style. The new style, headed by art director Nicolas Bouvier, will be based on fan feedback and the most iconic parts of the Halo franchise. The team will be working on modernizing the art so it can draw out all the power from the family of Xbox systems.

To combat the long wait for the game, 343 will perform some ‘flighting programs’ where players will be able to play the game with the developers and give direct feedback during the development. The ‘flighting program’ will be similar to one used in Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
