Sega Genesis

Today, Sega confirmed 10 more games that will be included in the library for the Sega Genesis Mini, another miniaturized console following successes like the NES Classic Edition and PlayStation Classic.

This batch of games touches on some of the Genesis’ most beloved titles. Included is a rare Mega Man compilation that packages remakes of three NES entries to the series: Mega Man, Mega Man 2, and Mega Man 3. Many may not have heard of Mega Man: The Wily Wars, but it crams some great value into the micro-console.

The games announced today are as follows:

Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle
Beyond Oasis
Ghouls ‘n Ghosts
Golden Axe
Mega Man: The Wily Wars
Phantasy Star 4: The End of the Millennium
Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball
Street Fighter 2: Special Champion Edition
Wonder Boy in Monster World

They join these 20 games that were earlier announced for the Genesis Mini:

Altered Beast
Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse
Castlevania: Bloodlines
Comix Zone
Contra: Hard Corps
Dr. Robotnik’s Mean Bean Machine
Earthworm Jim
Ecco the Dolphin
Gunstar Heroes
Shining Force
Shinobi 3: Return of the Ninja Master
Sonic the Hedgehog
Sonic the Hedgehog 2
Space Harrier 2
Streets of Rage 2
Super Fantasy Zone
Thunder Force 3
ToeJam & Earl
World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck

Sega has said that the Genesis Mini will include 40 games in total, so that leaves room for 10 more. A few notable Genesis games that might be included in the next batch are Mortal Kombat II, Road Rash, Rocket Knight Adventures, and Strider. Sega has done a great job of including some of its most popular titles so far, and any of these would fit that mold.

The Sega Genesis Mini launches on September 19 at USD$79.99. For buyers in the United States, it will include an adapter, HDMI cable, power cable, and two controllers.
